Ukrainian poet Yulia Musakovska has won The Asian Prize for Poetry 2025. The author announced this on Facebook.
The writer was awarded for her poem “Natural Disaster” from the book “Stones and Nails,” translated by Olena Jennings.
The author noted that she was grateful to the jury for this high distinction, emphasizing that the text about ecocide in the Kherson region will have the opportunity to “touch readers in another part of the globe, convey the truth, awaken indifference, unite around the universal.”
The Asian Prize comprises five awards recognizing outstanding contributions to world literature in the categories of fiction, short stories, poetry, and translation. This year’s poetry award jury was headed by Ukrainian writer, poet, and translator Iryna Vikyrchak.
