UNICEF to allocate 18 million dollars for Ukrainian education

UNICEF will allocate 18 million dollars for Ukrainian education. The grant is provided within the framework of the agreement signed at the UN headquarters between the head of the Ukrainian Education Ministry, Oksen Lisov, and the Education Cannot Wait for the emergency education fund. The money is envisaged for the development and rehabilitation of the Ukrainian education system.

The money will be directed by the MES to critical areas. In particular, on:

  • arrangement of storage facilities;
  • creation of digital educational centers and digital content for training;
  • professional development of teachers and equipping educational institutions with multimedia, etc.

The projects will be implemented by influential Ukrainian public organizations.

The MES is also negotiating for increased assistance to channel funds for the development of vocational education. According to the Minister, the transformation of vocational schools is one of the critical focuses of our attention in the context of rehabilitation, requalification, and lifelong learning.
