Ukrainian businesses operate in extremely difficult conditions, facing a shortage of qualified personnel and talent that can be developed.
A study by One Philosophy consulting group has shown that 80% of companies are experiencing an acute talent shortage. Representatives of large companies such as McDonald’s, Ukrposhta, Oschadbank, Rozetka, WOG, Glovo, and Planeta Kino point to migration and mobilization processes as the main reasons for the shortage.
To solve this problem, companies are actively training women in previously considered male professions. This approach has already shown positive results and gives hope for stabilizing the situation.
Other challenges for Ukrainian businesses include the transformation of the labor market into a “candidate market” where employers are forced to compete for employees. Companies’ planning horizons have shrunk, with only long-term strategies remaining unchanged.
Companies are also paying attention to employee morale and fighting fatigue and burnout. For this purpose, they hire psychologists and conduct training.
In addition, most companies support paying salaries to employees mobilized to the Armed Forces and plan to continue this practice.
