Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has lost more than 3.5 million jobs, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated during the “Ukraine. Year 2025” forum.
“At the beginning of the war, we lost more than 3.5 million jobs and 30% of GDP,” Shmyhal said.
According to him, Ukraine needs to form a culture of supporting its people, which will help the economy recover from the fall.
The labor market continues to stabilize, but Ukraine faces large territorial imbalances. Due to security risks, businesses have mainly relocated to the western regions, where the largest supply of vacancies can be observed. Instead, the closer you are to the frontline, the more difficult the labor market is.
