The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appealed to the cosmetics brand MAC Cosmetics in connection with the popular lipstick shade “Russian Red,” which defines the color of Ukrainian blood according to them.
The country expressed concern about the name of the famous lipstick shade, “Russian Red,” and pointed out that this color is a symbol of the blood of Ukrainians who are victims of Russia’s actions.

Ukraine calls on the Canadian brand MAC Cosmetics to “stop using the name Russian Red,” in particular, due to the association of this shade with the tragic events caused by Russian aggression.
“Russian Red ” is a well-known shade, trendy among MAC Cosmetics products. However, it is not just a color of beauty or love. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, it is a symbol of the blood of Ukrainians who are becoming victims of Russia’s actions every day. This is the actual color of war, which no one should feel,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said in a statement on the X platform with the hashtag #StopRussianRed. MAC Cosmetics still needs to respond to this appeal.
