This year, 1132 couples got married on February 14, Valentine’s Day. The oldest bride and groom from the Dnipro region are 72 and 83, respectively. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
A couple living together for 25 years got married in Mykolaiv region. They filed an application in January and chose to get married on that date, the Ministry of Justice said.
They add that many more people were willing to get married than planned. In particular, 537 applications were submitted by the bride and groom the day before the holiday because, during martial law, specific categories of citizens can get married on the day of the application.
As a reminder, Kyiv became the leader in the number of applications for marriage registration on this day. 111 couples got married in the capital. The second place was taken by Dnipropetrovska oblast (70 marriages), followed by Odesa oblast (64 marriages).
Western Ukraine was just a little – behind 44 couples who married in the Lviv region.
