European Commission proposes to extend temporary protection for Ukrainians in the EU until 2026

Ukraine and the European Union, on October 14, approved a decision to abolish part of the tariffs and increase the quotas for the export of agricultural products to the European Union.

The decision of the Association Committee in trade format was adopted after the EU Council, the day before, adopted the terms of a new trade agreement with Ukraine, which is to replace the “trade visa-free regime”, which expired in June 2025.

The decision will take effect in 15 days (October 29). The following review of increasing access to the EU market will take place in 2028.
