Bankruptcy is considered an extreme step that not all businessmen who have a “burned out” case dare to take. Nevertheless, this year, the number of persons who have officially recognized themselves as bankrupt has increased significantly.
In the first 5 months of 2024, 343 Ukrainians filed for bankruptcy. Last year, this figure was 2.2 times less.
In 2023, 575 people were granted the status of bankruptcy. Since 2019, 1,993 bankruptcy cases have been opened.
The number of people who sought to declare bankruptcy has grown steadily:
- In 2020, the number of bankrupts increased 8.3 times;
in 2021 – 2.7 times.
What ages have the most bankrupts:
- 58% are between the ages of 25 and 45;
- 38.3% are over 45 years old;
- 3.7% are under 25 years old.
The majority of bankrupts are 54% male. Slightly fewer women have bankruptcy status – 46%.
