Ukrainian director Tanya Muinho continues to collaborate actively with foreign stars. She repeatedly demonstrates to the world how talented Ukrainian artists are. This time, the music video maker created a video for the Dutch singer Sevdaliza’s song HEROINA.
This composition and footage manifest female corporeality, which is revealed not as an object of desire but as a symbol of freedom, strength, and dignity. The song HEROINA addresses the topics of support for women, the LGBTQ+ community, immigrants, and refugees, emphasizing unity and acceptance.
Sevdaliza created the track in a duet with Argentine artist La Joaqui, and the video was shot by a Ukrainian-Georgian team in Tbilisi. In the video, the singer transforms into modern visions of the goddesses mentioned in the song – Anahitob, Saraswati, Aphrodite, Mama Kilia, and Anaida. The stylists gave them new meanings: refugee goddess, military goddess, goddess of gender fluidity – images that embody strength through vulnerability.
Tanya Muinho worked in tandem with her regular cameraman Mykyta Kuzmenko. Together, they have created videos for world stars such as Lenny Kravitz, Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Cardi B, and Harry Styles. The dance team was joined by Ukrainian choreographer Marina Kushchova, who previously worked with Muinho on the TK421 video for Kravitz.
Ukrainian stylist Margarita Shekel also joined the video, working remotely from Kyiv while the primary filming occurred in Tbilisi.
