British singer Sting has called for the freedom of Ukrainian musicians still held captive by Russia. The artist’s video message was posted on Instagram by Cultural Forces.
“In the name of our common humanity, in the name of music, please free them,” the musician said in the message.
The Cultural Forces portal reminds that the Ukrainian military musicians were forced to surrender in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region, in 2022. Some have already been released thanks to international support. But nine are still in captivity.
