Recently, Cyprus hosted the Grand Parade, the final part of Carnival 2024. A Ukrainian column took part in it.
The Grand Parade began with a performance by the brass band of the Limassol Municipality and other musical groups. The parade was traditionally led by the Carnival Queen, called the “Pearl of the Mediterranean”; she was followed by a solemn procession with platforms and carnival bands.
This is the second time the Ukrainian column has participated in the Cypriot carnival. This year’s theme was the image of Mavka. This animated movie was released in Cyprus last year and was very popular. The movie’s producers gave permission to use the image. The column also featured traditional Ukrainian costumes.
