In 2024, the Ukrainian IT sector paid a record $1 billion in taxes

In 2024, IT companies paid $1 billion in taxes to the budget, 105% more than in 2019. Exports of IT services grew by 54.5% from 2019 to 2024, reaching $6.4 billion. The Digital Tiger 2024 report, prepared by the IT Ukraine Association in cooperation with Top Lead, contains such conclusions.

By the end of 2024, IT companies paid $1 billion in taxes to the budget, 105% more than in 2019.

Ukrainian IT companies continue to increase their exports, which account for 11.5% of the country’s total exports and 37.4% of services exports. Key markets remain the United States (37.2% of IT services exports), the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Israel, and Switzerland. Overall, Ukraine exports IT services to 147 countries.

  • There are 9,600 IT companies in Ukraine, 5.9% more than in 2023.
  • The sector employs 265,000 IT professionals, most registered as individual entrepreneurs.
  • The highest-paid specialties: Solution Architect, AI, Scala, DevOps, and Machine Learning.

Ukraine is one of the leaders in Eastern Europe in terms of the number of tech startups – more than 2,600. Over the past six years, Ukrainian companies have raised $1.5 billion in venture capital, focusing on AI, DefenseTech, FinTech, and EdTech.

Further growth of the IT industry and Ukraine’s integration into global technology markets are expected. The Diia.City program facilitates this by offering favorable tax conditions for IT businesses and attracting international investors.

Ukrainian IT companies already have offices in 54 countries, and 71% of them work with foreign clients.
