McDonald’s is investing more than UAH 1.8 billion to expand in Ukraine

McDonald's revenue in Ukraine almost quadrupled in 2023

The fast food chain McDonald’s is investing over UAH 1.8 billion to expand and upgrade its network in Ukraine. The company plans to open nine new restaurants in the country in 2025.

Currently, 109 out of 124 restaurants operate in Ukraine. The company sees the potential to expand its network to 500 restaurants, particularly by entering small towns. 103 million customers visited McDonald’s in 2024, up 16% from 2023. The company is gradually returning to the 2021 figure of 125 million customers.

By the way, in 2023, McDonald’s became Ukraine’s largest taxpayer in the restaurant industry, paying UAH 1.3 billion in taxes. In 2024, the company doubled this amount and paid more than UAH 2.6 billion to the state budget.
