Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar has officially stated that the country will not provide military support to Ukraine, specifically refraining from sending soldiers or weapons, even if a new government is formed. He expressed this stance during a joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Berlin.
Magyar emphasized that the current priority is to fulfill previously agreed-upon commitments. At the same time, Hungary aims to remain a constructive partner within the framework of European collaboration, particularly concerning the multiannual financial framework, combating illegal migration, ensuring competitive conditions, and foreign policy.
Additionally, it was mentioned that the possibility of a personal meeting between Prime Minister Magyar and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will depend on progress in resolving issues related to the rights of the Hungarian minority in Zakarpattia.
Furthermore, it was reported that compensatory payments for members of the previous government will be directed to support a children’s home in Ukraine.
