Deadpool and Wolverine has become one of the highest-grossing films of the year. Released worldwide on July 25, the Marvel project starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman crossed the $1.029 billion mark, Variety reports.
According to the publication, the film is rapidly breaking records: by August 11, the film had grossed $494.3 million in the US domestic box office, making it the highest-grossing R-rated film (not recommended for viewers under 17) in the country’s box office history.
At the moment, Deadpool and Wolverine is second only to the animated film Inside Out 2, which has grossed more than $1.5 billion at the box office. At the same time, the superhero movie became the second Disney project to cross the billion-dollar mark in 2024.
As a reminder, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman were recently awarded Guinness World Records certificates for making the Deadpool and Wolverine trailer the most popular video in 24 hours.
