A presentation of a book dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the history of the Ukrainian community in Brazil entitled “130 anno Imigração ucraniana o Brasil” was held in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. The event was organized by the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC).
Curitiba is the state capital and center of Ukrainians in Brazil, and Paraná has the most prominent Ukrainian community. Ukrainian is the second official language in this municipality.
The Society of Ukrainians in Brazil — SUBRAS and the Poltava Folklore Club organized the event. It was also attended by the President of the Ukrainian-Brazilian Central Representation, Vitorio Sorotiuk, who is one of the compilers of this valuable book.
The book is available at the UKRA BAR restaurant in Curitiba and at the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Society of Brazil.
