The Canadian-Belgian musician and producer Apashe has officially announced his concert in the capital of Ukraine, scheduled for August 28, 2026. This marks the artist’s first performance in Kyiv since 2019, as confirmed on his official social media channels. Notably, this visit is entirely dedicated to a live performance, in contrast to his prior visits, which involved filming music videos or documentary projects.
Apashe also expressed his special attitude towards Ukraine and the Kyiv audience, emphasizing the long break in touring in the country. According to the artist, it is time to restore contact with the Ukrainian audience. In addition, he undertook to transfer his fee for the concert to the Children of Heroes Foundation, which provides long-term material, psychological, and educational support to children who lost their parents as a result of military operations in Ukraine.
Apashe, whose real name is John de Bak, was born in Brussels and currently lives in Montreal. He is known for his unique blend of electronic music with elements of hip-hop, bass, and classical symphonic orchestration, creating a cinematic style. The results of his work have been repeatedly used in projects of leading global brands and platforms, including Apple, Netflix, HBO, Amazon, and Ubisoft. One of the artist’s key releases was the 2020 Renaissance album, created with the participation of a large symphony orchestra.
The Ukrainian context is important in Apashe’s creative work: he has previously implemented projects related to Ukraine, filmed materials during military events, and collaborated with local musicians. A recent track with Alina Pash, “Kyiv,” was also integrated into the charitable initiative supporting Children of Heroes.
