World-renowned actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie has joined forces with British portrait photographer Giles Duley to raise awareness of the ongoing tragedy in Ukraine. In a joint publication, they presented shots that capture the contrasts of wartime life: from destroyed hospitals and death to moments of birth and love under fire.
Jolie, who has visited Ukraine several times, emphasized the incredible strength of Ukrainians in the post. Duley’s photos aptly convey the warmth and courage of people who face danger every day.
10.8 million Ukrainians are in critical need of humanitarian assistance, and about 5.9 million people have been forced to seek refuge abroad. The actress and photographer emphasized that in 2025 alone, the number of civilian casualties increased by 26% due to the active use of explosive weapons.
