The new Maison Margiela spring-summer collection was showcased as part of Paris Fashion Week, where Glenn Martens once again drew inspiration from the House’s heritage, reinterpreting the aesthetics of deconstruction with a modern twist.
The show was opened by models with metal expanders in their mouths — a symbolic reference to the four signature stitches that once personified the brand’s anonymity. The collection was dominated by sets made of artificially aged leather, including loose pants, jackets with inside-out linings, and long trench coats.
Ukrainian model Alla Kostromichova also took part in the show. She took to the podium in a long skirt, a thrown jacket, and high boots — a laconic yet expressive image with an emphasis on the silhouette that accurately conveys the spirit of the collection.
