Turkish and Ukrainian scholars in Turkey co-authored a book about Ukraine and its modern history.
The book Ukrayna (Ukraine) was compiled by Ismail Aydıngün, a professor at Bashkent University, and Valeriy Morkva, a Ukrainian doctoral candidate at Cappadocia University.
The preface emphasizes that it is essential to “convey to the Turkish reader a Ukrainian perspective that is not distorted by Russian narratives about important events in Ukrainian history.”
Yulia Biletska, head of the Ukrainian Union in Ankara and a scholar and lecturer at Karabuk University, noted that books about Ukraine are increasingly being published in Turkey, which helps strengthen Ukraine’s position in the information field.
