According to the World Bank’s forecast for the countries of Europe and Central Asia, in 2023, Ukrainians’ incomes began to recover. At the same time, the majority of citizens still state the deterioration of their financial situation.
Income data show that in the last quarter of 2023 (from October to December), the nominal wages of the Ukrainians outpaced inflation and increased. In addition, social transfers increased in real terms.
– However, 70% of households believe that their financial situation has deteriorated compared to two years ago, – says the review.
This is due to high uncertainty, high prices after a period of inflation, a lack of savings, and property loss.
