Volodymyr Zelenskyy, together with the people of Ukraine, has been nominated for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. The award is proposed for the role of Zelensky and Ukrainians in defending Ukraine during the war with Russia. The nomination was submitted by a professor from the University of Oslo.
The nomination recognizes the Ukrainians’ resistance to Russian aggression since 2014 and their defense of democracy and European stability since 2022. It should be noted that the Ukrainian president was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022, 2023, and 2024. However, he has not yet won the award, as the committee usually avoids awarding leaders of warring countries.
