Wizz Air leases the fleet of Ukrainian low-cost SkyUp

Hungarian airline Wizz Air is leasing the fleet of Ukrainian low-cost airline SkyUp, registered in Malta, due to a shortage of aircraft.

As of 2024, the aviation industry is experiencing hard times. In particular, the low-cost airline Wizz Air has also suffered. The airline has had to cancel dozens of flights.

This decision was prompted by Pratt & Whitney GTF’s problems. In April 2024, it became known that Wizz Air was leasing the Ukrainian low-cost airline SkyUp fleet.

Currently, SkyUp is already operating flights on behalf of Wizz Air. This is expected to help resolve the challenging situation in the aviation sector.
