In August 2025, cars with traditional engines accounted for only 49% of the Ukrainian market for new passenger cars. According to Ukravtoprom, this share has decreased significantly, as it was almost 63% a year ago.
What engines do Ukrainians choose?
- Gasoline cars remain the most popular, but their share fell to 32.3% (in August 2024 – 40.8%).
- Electric cars experienced rapid growth, with their share almost doubling – from 14.3% to 27.9%.
- Hybrid cars slightly increased their share to 23.4% (it was 22.4%).
- Diesel cars lost popularity, with their share decreasing from 22.1% to 16.2%.
- Cars with LPG (gas cylinder equipment), like last year, accounted for less than 1% of sales.
