Ukrainians’ debt for housing and communal services increased to 106.6 billion hryvnia for the first time since the start of the full-scale war. For comparison, at the end of 2021, this amount was 81.3 billion hryvnia. This is evidenced by data from the State Statistics Service.
What Ukrainians owed the most for:
- 35.2 billion UAH – for the supply of thermal energy and hot water.
- 32.3 billion UAH – for gas.
- 17.1 billion UAH – for electricity.
- 10.2 billion UAH – for cold water.
- 8.8 billion UAH – for the maintenance of apartment buildings.
- 3.1 billion UAH – for garbage collection.
According to the State Statistics Service, in the second quarter of 2025, the total amount of charges for utility services was UAH 64.3 billion, of which UAH 51.5 billion was actually paid.
