According to the Federal Statistical Office of Germany, as of 2025, approximately 3.3 million refugees and displaced persons have resided in the country since 1950. Among this population, the average age is 39 years, with a gender distribution of 45% women and 55% men. The largest group comprises Ukrainian citizens, numbering around 832,000, followed by Syrians at 732,000. Additionally, 316,000 refugees have arrived from Afghanistan, 186,000 from Iraq, 146,000 from Turkey, 120,000 from Poland, and 117,000 from Iran.
