On the Day of Poetry, as part of the All-Ukrainian Poetry Reading Week, the Ukrainian House in Tbilisi hosted a theatrical retro costume party, “Poetic Necklace,” at the meeting of the “Under the Lamp” club, hosted by writer and co-founder of the club Oresta Osiychuk.
The guests were transported to other time dimensions, embodied in women poets of different times. Olena Pchilka (Valentyna Marjanishvili), Olha Kobylyanska (Kateryna Chernoray), Lesya Ukrainka (Valeria Geldash), Olena Teliha (Valentyna Marjanishvili), Lina Kostenko (Maya Fysiuk), Oksana Zabuzhko (Oresta Osiychuk), Natalka Bilotserkivets (Olha Holyk), Iryna Kryvonis (Maryna Shysh), Marianna Kiyanovska, and Yulia Shevel (Malvina Korzh) appeared in the cozy hall. Participants read their poems, watched videos about Ukrainian women writers, and enjoyed a pie made by Olha Kobylianska. Literary meetings at the Ukrainian House are becoming a good tradition.
