The Executive Committee of the International Gymnastics Federation reports that Ukrainian gymnast Pantelei Kolodii is changing his sports citizenship to the United States.
He is now 23 years old. The decision will come into force in a year, and the athlete can compete for the United States from May 2026.
Kolodiy competed for the Ukrainian national team at the European and World Championships, the Universiade, and the World Challenge Cups. He also planned to participate in the qualifying tournament for the US Championships, but his application was rejected because only Americans can compete.
Earlier, Ukrainian gymnast Ilya Kovtun also decided to change his citizenship. He applied for Croatian citizenship.
