The Ukrainian boxer became the Olympic champion in the weight class of up to 80 kilograms. The judges gave him the upper hand in two out of three rounds.
This is the second time in his career that Khyzhnyak has reached the final of the Olympic Games in the 80-kilogram weight class. At the Tokyo Olympics, he won a silver medal.
The Ukrainian’s opponent was the current world champion in the weight class of up to 80 kilograms.
