The Bologna Children’s Book Fair announced the results of the 60th Bologna Illustrators Exhibition. Among this year’s laureates is Ukrainian illustrator Maria Rizak.
Other Ukrainian authors also made it to the finals. Among them are Polina Doroshenko, Oleg Hryshchenko, Yulia Gvilim, Grasya Oliyko, Romana Romanyshyn, Anna Sarvira, and Vlada Soshkina.
In 2026, the competition received 20,790 works submitted by 4,158 artists from 94 countries and regions worldwide. Based on the selection results, the jury formed a final list of 317 illustrators, of whom 75 authors from 31 countries were named winners.
The Bologna Illustrators’ Exhibition has been held annually since 1967 as part of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. The project aims to reflect current trends in illustration and to present new authors working in children’s books at an international level.
