Ukrainian and German artisans make musical instruments out of rockets

The Arthelps group of artists from Stuttgart, Germany, and their Ukrainian colleagues have made musical instruments from scrap military metal. Thus, components from a missile become a violin, and gasoline can become a guitar. During the master class, for example, a violin was made from a missile warhead, a cello from parts of a launch vehicle, and a guitar from a gasoline can.

There is a lot of military scrap and garbage along the front line in Ukraine. Through our partners in Ukraine, we managed to get this raw material to Kyiv, where it was used to make musical instruments. Later, as part of this initiative, the musical instruments were delivered to Germany, where they can be seen and heard at special concerts.
