Ukraine has won its first medal at the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics in South Korea. Polina Putsko, a biathlete, won the bronze medal in the 6 km sprint, losing to Ela Sever from Slovenia and Carlotta Gautero from Italy.
This is Ukraine’s fourth medal at the Youth Olympics – one gold, one silver, and two bronze. The total number of Ukrainian athletes at these competitions is 44. The Winter Youth Olympics occurs from January 19 to February 1 in Gangwon-do Province, South Korea.
