The Ukrainian national rhythmic swimming team won silver medals at the 2024 FINA World Championships, which began on Friday, February 2, in the Qatari city of Doha.
The Ukrainian “mermaids” took second place in the acrobatic program, scoring 243.3167 points in the final.
The Ukrainian team was represented by eight athletes in the acrobatic program: Marina and Vladislava Alekseeva, Marta Fedina, Oleksandra Goretska, Veronika Hryshko, Daria Moshinska, Anastasia Shmonina and Valeria Tyshchenko.
The Chinese won the gold medal in this discipline with 244.1767 points, while the U.S. team took the bronze with 242.2300 points.
It should be noted that this is Ukraine’s first medal at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships.
It is also important to note that this championship is considering the issue of obtaining Olympic licenses, which will be awarded to the top five teams by the sum of points in three programs: acrobatic, technical, and accessible.
