Google has presented a new section of the Ukraine Next Door project on Google Arts & Culture. It contains over 1,000 new images, over 90 stories of prominent Ukrainians, and more than 250 3D models of museum artifacts and monuments.
This is stated in the Google blog.
“Ukraine Next Door” is a project that disseminates Ukraine’s cultural history online in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications. It allows people from all over the world to learn more about Ukrainian art.
In particular, the project tells the stories of prominent Ukrainians – from writers to inventors, ballet dancers to film directors, writer Lesya Ukrainka to the creator of the world’s first transcontinental passenger plane, Igor Sikorsky.
Ukraine Next Door also preserves cultural heritage for future generations. The project digitizes Ukraine’s cultural monuments, including 3D models of St. George’s Cathedral in Lviv, the Solomiya Krushelnytska Lviv Opera and Ballet Theater, and others.
