Angelina Usanova, hailing from Kiev and crowned “Miss Universe Ukraine 2023,” has emerged victorious at the international beauty contest Miss Eco International 2024. The final took place overnight at the Triumph Hotel in Cairo, Egypt.
The primary aim of the competition is to promote the importance of environmental care and ecology, with the winner becoming a UN Ambassador for Ecology and the Environment.
Usanova received the crown from Miss Eco International 2023, Nguyen Thanh Ha of Vietnam.
In addition to winning the prestigious title, Usanova also received other accolades:
- 1st place in the Miss Eco Best Resort Wear category for the best beachwear look;
- 3rd place among eco-costumes with the costume “World on Fire”;
- ranked in the top five national costumes for her “Phoenix” costume;
- and placed in the top twelve performances in the talent competition, where she performed her original song “Earth.”
“I am incredibly happy to bring such a prestigious title to Ukraine. In a month, I will become a UN Ambassador for Ecology and the Environment to further amplify Ukraine’s voice on the global stage, highlighting the issues of nature affected by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine,” shared Miss Eco International 2024, Angelina Usanova.
“Securing the first place at the Miss Eco International 2024 beauty pageant is a significant milestone for us. Ukraine hasn’t had a victory in international beauty pageants for a long time, and finally, we have won in a highly prestigious competition that ranks among the top five in the world,” commented Anna Filimonova, president of the “Miss Ukraine Universe” contest.
