Two Ukrainians, Svitlana Kominko and Andriyan Makhnachov, have been included in the prestigious list of 25 Canadian immigrants of 2025 who are changing lives for the better. This is stated on the website of the 25 Top Canadian Immigrants 2025 award.
It should be noted that this national award annually honors 25 immigrants who have made outstanding contributions to the development of Canada in the fields of culture, education, business, community, and charitable activities. Winners are selected through public voting and expert evaluation.
Svitlana Kominko, who came to Canada in 2003, founded the Maple Hope Foundation charity organization with like-minded people after the Revolution of Dignity. Since then, the foundation has carried out dozens of projects to support Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees in Canada and has sent over 32 million CAD in aid to Ukraine.
Andriyan Makhnachov arrived in Canada after the start of the full-scale war and has since become a well-known influencer on social media, sharing insightful videos about life on another continent. All winners of this award were honored during a ceremony in Toronto.
It should be noted that after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, about 300,000 Ukrainians moved to Canada.
