Twelve EU countries call for accession talks with Ukraine and Moldova to start in June

Czech Minister of European Affairs Martin Dvořák has initiated a letter calling on the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union to facilitate progress in the accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova.

Sweden, Finland, Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Romania, Slovenia, Portugal, and Germany joined the Czech initiative.

Dvořák is confident that a breakthrough in the talks could energize Ukraine and Moldova’s reform efforts.
