Tourism brought about UAH 3 billion to the budget of Ukraine over the year

Ukraine has increased the collection of the “Google tax.”

The tourism industry contributed UAH 2,938 million to Ukraine’s budget in 2024, but it did not receive ten times more taxes. This was announced by Mariana Oleskiv, head of the State Agency for Tourism Development (DART).

According to her, the calculation was based on tourist tax data, with a minimum 30% occupancy rate of facilities where people are provided with a place to stay. She explained that this mark is the break-even point.

The accommodation facility should be closed below 30%. However, even with a minimum 30% occupancy rate, for example, in the Slavska community, revenues from the tourist tax could be ten times higher.
