The Ukrainian electric car market grew by 38% over the year

Ukrautoprom reports that in December 2024, Ukrainians purchased almost 3.8 thousand cars with battery power sources (new and used), 18% less than a year earlier.

More than 3.6 thousand are passenger cars (-20%) and 124 commercial vehicles (+59%).

In total, over 51.7 thousand zero-emission vehicles (BEVs) were added to the Ukrainian car fleet in 2024, which is 38% more than in 2023:

  • passenger cars – 50458 units (+37%);
  • electric – 1264 units (+64%);
  • electric buses – 2 units (+).

The share of new vehicles in BEV registrations, as of 2023, was 20%.

Top 5 new electric vehicles on the market in 2024:

  • VW ID.4 – 1626 units;
  • Honda M-NV – 1279 units;
  • BYD Song Plus – 1007 units;
  • Nissan Ariya – 766 units;
  • Zeekr 001 – 703 units.

The most popular used cars

Top 5 used electric cars registered in Ukraine for the first time:

  • Nissan Leaf – 5511 units;
  • Tesla Model 3 – 4639 units;
  • Tesla Model Y – 4225 units;
  • VW e-Golf – 2479 units;
  • Hyundai Kona Electric – 2337 units.
