The press service of the State Special Communications Service reported that in 2024, the number of cyberattacks in Ukraine increased by 69.8%, reaching 4,315 incidents, compared to 2,541 a year earlier.
It is noted that attackers most often target local authorities, government and government organizations, the security and defense sector, the energy sector, commercial organizations, and telecommunications.
The most common incidents are malware distribution, phishing, malicious connection, and account or system compromise.
Attackers aim to steal sensitive information and destroy data and information systems.
The government’s cyber incident response team, CERT-UA, notes that cyber attacks, primarily on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, are currently on a steady upward trend.
