Ten Ukrainian illustrators and artists made it to the World Illustration Awards 2026 long list

Ten Ukrainian illustrators and artists made it to the long list for the World Illustration Awards 2026. In total, 446 works from all over the world were included in the long list this year.

Among the honorees are authors from Ukraine, as well as Ukrainians who currently work in the UK, Canada and the USA.

List of 10 Ukrainian illustrators on the award longlist:

  1. Masha (Maria) Foya (Kyiv) — entered the longlist with two works in the Editorial and Exploration categories.
  2. Olga Lisovska (Kharkiv) — was awarded in the Book Covers category for the cover of the novel “Dick Apple” by Kurt Vonnegut.
  3. Maria Bilinska — Book Covers category for the cover of the book “Good Feelings” by Bohdan Kolomiychuk.
  4. Irena Zablotska (UK / Ukraine) — Advertising category for a poster for the 3×3 International Illustration Show competition.
  5. Irina Yaremenko (UK) — Editorial (New Talent) category with the project “Quiet Presence”.
  6. Gena Gudkova (Cambridge / Kyiv) — Children’s Publishing category for the wordless book “A Hug Back”.
  7. Dariia Lada (Canada) — was shortlisted with two works in the Editorial category (in particular for the journal The Lancet Infectious Diseases).
  8. Natalia Vishchyk — was awarded in the competition for the project “Gentle Giant” (student and new talent category).
  9. Anna Do — an artist of Ukrainian origin, who also successfully entered the long list of the award.
  10. Mariia Tikhonova (also known as Yulia Gwilym / Zhenya Polosina) is a regular participant and nominee from Ukraine (in total, the organizers have recorded exactly 10 authors with Ukrainian roots across different categories).

The World Illustration Awards were founded by the British Association of Illustrators. The award is held every two years, and both beginners and experienced artists can become contestants. The works of the award winners will be exhibited around the world next year.
