Switzerland to invest $125 million in Ukraine reconstruction

Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter and Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko discussed the peace process and Ukraine’s reconstruction during talks in Bern on Thursday, August 28, the Swiss government announced.

The countries also announced 12 projects that Swiss companies will implement with the support of the Swiss government as part of Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts in the areas of infrastructure, public transportation, healthcare, and humanitarian demining.

The selected companies include Geberit, which plans to install plumbing equipment; Divario, which will build modular homes; and Roche Diagnostics, which will establish a medical laboratory.

The Swiss government is providing about 100 million Swiss francs ($124.7 million) to support these companies.
