The program of the famous international film festival will include a special Day of Ukrainian Cinema. As part of this day, a film by Oleksandra Teslenko, a director from Dnipro, titled “They Promise Snow for Christmas,” will be presented for pitching.
Let us recall that even before the start of the full-scale war, Oleksandra Teslenko shot a short film of the same name. It won a whole series of awards and prizes at Ukrainian and international festivals.

Last year, the Dnipro film company “Contrabas Studio” began work on a feature film. Oleksandra Teslenko is presenting this project at various international film forums, where she is seeking partners and patrons for the film.
Now this film will also be presented in Venice. According to the plot of the film, a ten-year-old boy dreams of becoming a soloist of the choir at a Christmas concert. But his path to his dream becomes complicated when he meets a girl who also aspires to win this place of honor. Their rivalry gradually develops into a story of support, friendship, and a true Christmas miracle.
“Ukrainian Day” will serve as a vital platform for exchanging experiences, fostering discussions between representatives of the Ukrainian and international film industries, exploring potential partnerships, and discovering new ways to support Ukrainian filmmakers during the war.
