The world-renowned British rock musician, Sir Rod Stewart, officially expressed his solidarity with Ukraine during a recent concert in Stockholm. The artist dedicated the performance of his iconic hit “The Rhythm of My Heart” to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Ukrainian people, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, emphasizing Ukraine’s resilience in confronting Russian aggression.
From the stage, Stewart remarked that the nobility and steadfastness of the Ukrainians in their struggle, which has persisted for a duration comparable to that of the Second World War, elicits his profound admiration. He underscored that, despite challenges, the Ukrainian people continue to showcase remarkable endurance and courage.
This gesture was a response to recent missile strikes on Kyiv, notably the increased casualty toll from the attack in the Darnytskyi district that took place during the night of July 6. Over the years, Sir Rod Stewart has regularly incorporated poignant messages in support of Ukraine during his concert programs, fostering unity among his audiences.
The musician also publicly addressed the Ukrainian people with the words: “My heart is with the people of Ukraine. I hope this small tribute reminds you that people around the world continue to stand by your side.”
