Poland has invested almost PLN 323 million (over $86 million) in 2022-2024 in Starlink satellite terminals for Ukraine to provide communications at the front and in civilian life. In 2025, no new purchases are planned, but subscription costs will reach 77 million zlotys (about $20 million), Forbes writes, citing Polska Zbrojna.
The funds for Starlink terminals and their subscription fees were allocated from the Fund for Assistance to Ukraine, which Poland created after the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia.
Since then, Ukraine has received 24,500 terminals, with another 5,100 provided by other Polish organizations. The Polish government pays a subscription fee for all devices – 528.9 zlotys ($140.6) per month for the standard tariff and 1383.7 zlotys ($367.9) for the special tariff.
According to the Polish Ministry of Digitalization, only activated terminals are paid for.
Of the 5000 devices purchased at the end of 2024, Ukraine received 1584 units by March 2025. The rest are stored at the Institute of Communications in Poland, and the Ukrainian side organizes their reception and transportation.
