Paralympic Games 2024: 4 medals for Ukraine

Swimmer Anton Kol became a silver medalist in the 100m backstroke in the S1 class. He won the first medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games for Ukraine.

Also, Ukrainian swimmer Anna Gontar won bronze in the 50-meter freestyle in the S6 class at the 2024 Paralympic Games. Gontar’s medal is the second for Ukraine at this Paralympic Games.

Swimmers have won two other medals at the 2024 Paralympic Games for Ukraine.

Later, 36-year-old para swimmer Oleksandr Komarov from Donetsk won a bronze medal in the 200-meter freestyle in the S5 class in 2:30.

Finally, 26-year-old Iryna Poyda from Kherson won a silver medal for Ukraine, covering the 200-meter freestyle in 2:52.04 minutes in class S. The Ukrainian swimmer was second only to British swimmer Tully Kearney, who swam the same distance in 2:46.50 minutes. Third place went to Italian Monica Bojoni (2:47.96).
