Ukrainian fencer and two-time Olympic champion Olga Kharlan has become a mother for the first time, giving birth to a daughter fathered by Italian athlete Luigi Samele. The newborn girl has been named Arianna. Kharlan shared this joyful news on her Instagram account, where she posted the baby’s first photo, featuring her tiny hand.
In her post, Kharlan wrote: “Mom and Dad love you more than anything.”
The news of the athlete’s pregnancy surfaced in the winter of 2026. By March of the same year, the couple announced the baby’s gender, accompanied by a themed photoshoot. Kharlan and Samele’s relationship began more than twenty years ago during a competition in France, where they first met. After Olga’s breakup with Ukrainian fencer Dmytro Boiko, she officially began her relationship with Luigi in 2019. In September 2024, Luigi proposed to Olga. The couple is now busy preparing for their wedding.
