Netflix and the Ukrainian Film Academy announced 15 projects to receive grants of $15,000 each for the development of feature film scripts.
This year’s program provides support for projects at the development stage – 15 grants will receive $15,000 each (at the interbank rate).
Original feature films with a running time of 70 minutes or more, in development at the time of application, were accepted for participation.
Grant recipients also receive: translation of the script into English with assistance from the Ukrainian Film Academy; exclusive mentoring sessions and consultations with script doctors, with participation from EAVE – European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs experts.
The projects were evaluated by five international experts. Grants were awarded to:
- “God from the Machine”, screenwriter and director Myroslav Slaboshpytskyi, producer Roman Klympush;
- “Boxer from the Slums”, screenwriter Anna Smirnova, director Marko Podolyan, producer Kateryna Laskari;
- “Nine Checkpoints”, screenwriter Myroslav Latyk, producer Oksana Ivanyuk, director Myroslav Latyk;
- “Stars at the Bottom”, screenwriter Nariman Aliyev, producer Volodymyr Yatsenko, director Nariman Aliyev;
- “Intimate Scene”, screenwriter Zhanna Ozirna, producer Valeria Sochyvets, director Zhanna Ozirna;
- “The Vine” (working title), screenwriter Alina Panasenko, producer Lyuba Knorozok, director Alina Panasenko;
- “Maternal Instinct”, screenwriter Andriy Babik, producer Olga Panteleimonova, director Oleksandr Budyonny;
- “New History”, screenwriter Valentyn Vasyanovich, producer Iya Myslytska, director Valentyn Vasyanovich;
- “The Fall of Bakhmut”, screenwriter Marysya Nikityuk, producer Olga Bregman, director Marysya Nikityuk;
