Schoolboy from Vinnytsia, Ukraine, sets national record for Eurovision history knowledge

Eight-year-old schoolboy from Vinnytsia, Bohdan Malyarsky, has set a Ukrainian record for “The largest number of facts from the history of the Eurovision Song Contest memorized by a child.”
This was reported on Facebook by the head of the National Register of Records of Ukraine, Lana Vetrova.

“70 years of the history of the legendary Eurovision in numbers and facts were memorized by an 8-year-old schoolboy from Vinnytsia Lyceum No. 20, Bohdan Malyarsky. He masterfully reads the score of seven decades of the history of the Eurovision Song Contest as if he himself was behind the scenes of each final, starting with the very first one in 1956,” the post says.

In 30 minutes, Bohdan named 232 of the most interesting events of this main music scene in Europe and set a Ukrainian record for “The largest number of facts from the history of the Eurovision Song Contest, reproduced by heart by a child”. Among them are unmistakable dates, winners, unexpected turns, countries, iconic hits, dramas, and triumphs.

She noted that the boy became interested in Eurovision at the age of four. Currently, he keeps his own handwritten index card and predicts the winners of this television contest. In addition, he predicted that Leleka would represent Ukraine at Eurovision.
