Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk triumphed in the quarterfinal match of the French Open (Roland Garros) against her national team colleague Elina Svitolina. The match featured three sets, with Kostyuk winning 6-3, 2-6, 6-2, and lasting 1 hour and 51 minutes. This achievement marks a historical first for Ukraine, as no Ukrainian tennis player had previously reached the semifinals of the French Grand Slam.
With this victory, Kostyuk extended her current winning streak on clay courts to 17 matches. Her next opponent will be the “neutral” athlete Mirra Andreeva, who is ranked seventh in the WTA standings.
